. Completion of self assessment questionnaire on urinary function, sexual function and general health
. Assessment with the clinical nurse specialist
. Urine testing
. Blood pressure, height, weight
. Urinary flow rate and bladder scan
. Blood sample for level of Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA)
. Consultation and clinical examination with doctor to include digital rectal examination (DRE)
Additional optional tests:
. External ultrasound examination of the testicles
. Transrectal ultrasound (TRUS) of the prostate gland
. Blood analysis - full blood count, haemoglobin, urea and alectrolyte balance, liver function tests, testosterone, cholesterol and lipid levels, iron and fasting glucose, serum protein assessment and gout risk test (uric acid)
